Daniel, always looking for new challenges

“My goal is to run my fastest marathon” - and that would be very fast. Daniel is a very ambitious runner who is working hard on himself and wants to complete the 50th BMW BERLIN-MARATHON in a new PB. Daniel, who grew up in New York, moved to Berlin seven years ago for the BMW BERLIN-MARATHON, has run it several times and can't stop challenging himself again and again.

Jenny on the way to her first marathon

“Arrive!” - Passionate runner and TV presenter Jenny is running her very first marathon in Berlin. At the 50th BMW BERLIN-MARATHON, she is hoping for the vociferous support of the spectators who, in her opinion, make the 42.195 km in Berlin so special. At the end of her JOURNEY OF JOY, her big goal is to cross the finish line for the very first time.

Tom wants to break the magic barrier

“Running a marathon with a THREE in front” - that's the audacious goal of repeat offender Tom, who completed his first BMW BERLIN-MARATHON last year and is taking part again this year. The actor and creator has been in marathon fever since last year and wants to finally break the magic four hours.

Past locations and current course

In August, Daniel, Jenny and Tom met up for training in Berlin and discovered the roots of the BMW BERLIN-MARATHON. They ran laps in the Mommsenstadion, where the first starting gun was fired on October 13, 1974, and explored the Grunewald forest, through which the course ran back then. In the years that followed, the run moved into the heart of the city - a course that today leads along Berlin's most famous sights. Our three protagonists love the vibe of the current course, which is lined with cheering zones. For Tom, it's the “42-kilometer party” that makes this marathon so unique.

The JOURNEY OF JOY is a journey that connects all participants of the BMW BERLIN-MARATHON - from the first training step to the magical finish line. This journey is characterized by sweat and tears, unexpected setbacks and small triumphs. It is a story of perseverance and dedication, of moments when giving up seems tempting. But this is where the real joy begins: in overcoming your own limits, in finding the rhythm that carries your body, even when your head is in doubt.

On marathon day, this months-long effort turns into pure enthusiasm. Here you meet like-minded people, feel the energy of the spectators and share the indescribable moment of persevering together. It's not just about best times - it's about the process, experiencing every step, the joy of being part of something bigger. The JOURNEY OF JOY celebrates running as a ritual of life that awakens joy, connects and shines far beyond the 42.195 kilometers.
