Sport-Club Charlottenburg (SCC BERLIN) e. V.
The success story of SCC EVENTS and the BMW BERLIN-MARATHON is closely linked to Sport-Club Charlottenburg. It all began here in 1974 with the 1st Berlin People's Marathon. The club is a 100% shareholder of SCC EVENTS GmbH, which is responsible for organising the sporting events. SCC BERLIN is the organiser of all events, and is thus one of the clubs with the most members in the capital.
Abbott World Marathon Majors (AWMM)
The Abbott World Marathon Majors is an association of the world's largest marathon organisers and represents another successful initiative in which SCC EVENTS is significantly involved. The AWMM was initiated in 2006 by Mark Milde, race director of the BMW BERLIN-MARATHON, together with the directors of the marathons in Boston, London, Chicago and New York, and now also includes the Tokyo Marathon. At the heart of the initiative is a scoring series for professional runners. In the meantime, recreational athletes over the age of 40 are also determining their age group champions.
Sports metropolis Berlin
Berlin is considered an international sports metropolis. And SCC EVENTS has played a decisive role in this with its almost 20 events. The Initiative Sport Metropolis Berlin is an association of the most important decision-makers in Berlin's sports and business sectors. Berlin's top clubs and largest sports venues, the Berlin Olympic Training Centre, the State Sports Association, SCC-EVENTS, the Senate Department for the Interior and Sport as well as the Chamber of Industry and Commerce, Berlin Partner and visitBerlin are jointly pursuing the goal of remaining at world level in the future.
BERLINER QUEER-BÜNDNIS
The social credo of SCC EVENTS also includes supporting the BERLINER QUEER-BÜNDNIS (BERLIN QUEER-ALLIANCE) and standing up together for equal rights, diversity and respect. The aim of SCC EVENTS is to organise LGBTI*-friendly events in the future—with the first adjustments being made in the context of the race invitations as well as visible changes with all-gender changing rooms and toilets have already been implemented.
German Athletics Association (DLV) e. V.
The German Athletics Association is the umbrella organisation of all athletics clubs in Germany and, with its almost 800,000 members in around 7,750 clubs, it is the athletics association with the largest number of members in the world. SCC EVENTS is not only a partner of the DLV when it comes to hosting international sporting events such as the 2009 World Championships in Athletics and the 2018 European Championships in Athletics. Among other things, SCC EVENTS has developed a consensus paper and a digital health check for runners (PAPS test) in cooperation with sports physicians and representatives of the DLV.
Berlin Athletics Association (BLV) e. V.
The Berlin Athletics Association is the oldest state association in German athletics and the umbrella organisation for Berlin's athletics clubs, of which Sport Club Charlottenburg is by far the club with the most members.
German Road Races (GRR) e. V.
German Road Races is an interest group of road races in Germany, which was founded in 1995 on the initiative of Horst Milde, the former race director of the BERLIN-MARATHON, together with the organisers of other German city marathons. The aim is to promote running, to support each other in common concerns and to exchange expert knowledge among the members.
Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS)
AIMS is an international association of road race organisers. SCC EVENTS was also one of the founding members in 1986. In addition to promoting long-distance running throughout the world, one of the most important tasks of AIMS is course measurement in cooperation with World Athletics (formerly the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF)). In this way, SCC EVENTS ensures that the running courses of its own events also meet the conditions of World Athletics and that world records are recognised.
Marketing Club Berlin (MCB) e. V.
The Marketing Club Berlin is a meeting place for managers from business, science, administration and universities. As a network of marketing experts, the MCB is a contact point and hub for marketing in the capital.
Association of Berlin Merchants and Industrialists (VBKI) e. V.
Helping to shape and advance Berlin — that is the goal of the VBKI, one of the oldest economic institutions in Germany, which is also a goal that SCC EVENTS pursues with its numerous events. The VBKI is a forum of leading minds from business, politics and society and is committed to future-oriented urban development.
Specialist Group for the Event Industry in the Berlin Music Commission (BMC) eG
The COVID-related lockdown had far-reaching effects on the event industry. In order to be able to continue collaborating, the specialist group of the Berlin event industry within the Berlin Music Commission was formed in 2020. Here, SCC EVENTS, together with representatives of cultural, sporting and leisure events, is involved in current city politics.
